where is my fuel filter located in a 1987 dodge dakota? where to find my fuel filter in a 1987 dodge dakota?

UDUMFUK replied: "buddy you are going to laugh I hope it is in the fuel tank"

brek69amx replied: "The fuel pump on your vehicle is still mounted to the engine. The fuel sending unit is mounted in the tank and contains the fuel filter. The part# for the sending unit is 4051871 $231.00 available in 3-5 buisness days from your local dealership."

eferrell01 replied: "The fuel filter is located on the right side of the engine between the fuel pump and carburetor. Don't take the parts guy's advice. Look where I told you."

how do you change a fuel filter on a 1991 dodge Dakota? someone suggested that there is a valve that needs to be turned off before I disconnect the fuel filter. is this true, and if so what does it look like and where is it located?

LES H replied: "I have a 1988 Dodge Dakota that I changed the fuel filter on a few weeks ago. There was no valve to turn off. The fuel filter is located on the drivers side under the body about half way down the truck. I had a pan under it when I pulled it off to collect the gas, and make sure you keep your face away when you pull it off, but it was only a small amount of fuel that came out, enough to soak up with a rag. Hope this helps."

konstipashen replied: "The valve they are talking about is to release the fuel line pressure, you cant turn it off, it is for safety purposes and is located under the hood on the fuel injection rail. If you loosen the filter-located like the other man said, under the truck inside the frame rail- you can't miss it. WEAR EYE PROTECTION, loosen it up, let the pressure bleed off, takes a few seconds, then finish removing the filter, reinstall new one and go!"

Where can i find the fuel filter for a 2000 dodge dakota 2.5L 4cyl? I went to a couple of places, including pep boys, and noone found the filter in there system. It's like it doesnt exist. Obviously the truck has to have one right?? also, where is it located on the truck? Is it in the fuel tank?

harryb replied: "Look it up on Autozone.com!"

Dodie replied: "left side frame rail near the back of the cab. Looks like a small coffee canister"

mdk68gto replied: "i hate to say it, but on many of the newer cars that i have seen over the last 10 years, that filter has migrated into the gas tank and become part of the fuel pump assembly in the tank itself. the to sites that i check for parts confirm this."

How do you replace a fuel filter in a 2002 Dodge Dakota? I wasn't sure if it was an in-line or if it was inside the tank. But do you have to drop the tank, or is it on the underside away from the tank?

jim m replied: "in line"

jeffray replied: "in-line under the driver's side, uses plastic clips."

dodge man replied: "its an in line filter on that one,not hard to change at all,get a pan ready though you will loose a small amount of fuel when you loosen it,good luck."

2007 Dakota fuel filter location and removal? Where is the fuel filter located for a 2007 Dodge Dakota? Also, are there any special tools required to remove and replace the filter? I've done Fords and they require a fuel filter puller, and plastic tabs to complete the job.

Uncle Jed Knows replied: "Its in the gas tank. Your not suppose to have to change for a long time and may be only available as fuel pump and filter Assy. Alot of the new car of all makes have went to this.Unless you are having trouble it says no need to replace. At least for a very long time.................That's according to............................UJN"

Where can I find an inline fuel filter for a 97 Dodge Dakota 3.9L V6 pep boy and advanced dont have them? Trying to replace the inline fuel filter.

the last train replied: "Question is have you seen this filter ? That filter is located on top of the fuel tank , and I've only known dealers to carry them. Call those same parts stores back and ask for a fuel pressure regulator, see if they give you the same answer ? The fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator are intergrated together on this vehicle ( they are one in the same). You must lower the fuel tank to replace it . (have fun)"

lugnutz59 replied: "Actually, the only fuel filter is a "Fuel sock" inside the tank, mounted on the bottom of the fuel pump module. The fuel pump module must be removed to change the filter. I believe this is a Dealer Item Only. The dealer's parts book may also say the Fuel Pressure Regulator is a filter, but this is incorrect. HTH!"

fuel filter on 1997 dodge dakota? i have no idea where the fuel filter is located on my truck, if any one knows tell me

Stephen K replied: "It is located on the top of the tank integrated into the fuel pump. There's no replacing it unless you replace the fuel pump. It's not like a typical in line filter."

dodge man replied: "you have to drop the tank down to get to it no other way ,good luck,"
